Estella Scholes originally trained as a painter and teacher, and recently gained a Masters degree at Staffordshire University, whilst continuing her personal practice and teaching in Community Education. She has always been interested in walking through ancient landscapes, and the transitory effects of the weather, tides and atmosphere over time. Her paintings seek to capture the experience of walking by the sea, and the almost abstract sensations this creates. Estella works in acrylic, often producing short sequences of images that reflect the way we glance here and there as we walk. Her paintings are exhibited throughout the North West and Wales, and are to be found in both public and private collections throughout the UK and Scandinavia.
