Liverpool born Jason Jones graduated with a combined degree in Psychology and Art at Hope University College in Liverpool, where he is currently employed in the Fine Art Department. Colour plays an important role in Jason's work, and is used as an evolving exploration of the various relationships that exist within the canvases. Each colour exists independently, whilst also creating a harmony within the painting. Paint is added descriptively to create these moving canvases which have a bold integrity and strong presence. Emotional expression is an important source of inspiration, which is evident in the evocative nature of his paintings. Also inspired by American Expressionist painters such as Jackson Pollock, Jason adds; 'These artist pioneers set a new paradigm of what painting is about. I see my work as a celebration of what has been achieved and reverred, and am constantly striving to challenge what I am capable of'.
