Roger Cope is based in Cheshire, and has been working in photography for twenty years, which began as a hobby and has since developed into a life long passion. Since completing a course in Freelance Photography, and has subsequently specialised in horticultural themes - a choice influenced by Roger's love and knowledge of natural history. As a photographer, Roger has a particular interest in the strong natural colours and patterns which he finds in plants and flowers, and aims to produce close-up photographic images which are both abstract and accurate to the subject. The resulting 'plant portraits' are sharp and vibrant, complemented by softer, diffused natural light - and they boldly emphasise the brilliance of colour and delicacy of detail in each individual plant. Roger is a member of the Bureau of Freelance Photographers.
