Born in Nottinghamshire, contemporary painter Stuart Kettle studied Fine Art at Nottingham School of Art and later Graphic Design at Leicester Polytechnic. After many years working for the BBC and ITV, Stuart now works from his studio in Gloucestershire as a full time painter, with clients in Europe and America. His training is evident in his work, which he describes as 'minimalist with a strong graphic influence'. Stuart is inspired by natural forms and environments, sea, sky, texture, colour, shape and words. Much of his inspiration is drawn from the Isles of Scilly and in particular the island of Bryher. His paintings are a reflection of what he sees and feels, not an attempt to replicate nature, but to express his feelings and emotions and make a connection with people through his painting.
