Indigo Art were delighted to once again work with SMC Design on the supply of artworks throughout SAGA’s new cruise ship The Spirit of Adventure. The new ship is the sister ship to Spirit of Discovery which launched in 2019.
Indigo Art arranged the collection and transport of original commissioned artworks throughout the UK and Ireland – back to our workshop on the Wirral – and then together with SMC specified the bespoke framing requirements for each piece.
This was for all the artworks throughout the ship including all the cabins.
This all happened in the middle of the pandemic in 2020. We took a call from SMC during the first lockdown, who said the shipyard in Germany was fully open with 3,000 workers continuing to build the ship. What was our plan?
We immediately brought a crack team of Indigo Art elves back, to work specifically on the artworks for Spirit of Adventure – all artworks were crated and delivered to Germany on time and on budget despite all the challenges we faced at that time. An amazing effort by a great team.
Our workshop stayed open from that point on – as more projects in the UK were brought back to life. What a time that was !!
